I am about to talk about one of the most effective ways of feeling good about yourself which is remarkably easy to do but as it is so simple and straightforward, most people don’t even bother to try it and then they wonder why they are so fed up.
It is pretty well understood that what you think about most of the time is what you get most of the time. If you don’t believe it, just give it a try, if you are worried about not having enough money to pay the bills, guess what will happen, you won’t have enough money to pay the bills. That is just one extreme example but this way of thinking applies to just about everything. I have experienced this so many times in my own life and it is unfortunately the case that most people spend their time focussing on exactly what they don’t want.
The remedy for this problem is to think about what you do want but more in particular, think about what you have already got that you are grateful for. This could be absolutely anything from listening to the birds singing, the smell of freshly cut grass, the lovely smile that your children give you when you catch their eye after coming home from work for the day.
There really are so many things that you have got to be grateful for and if you concentrate on those things you will find that something magical will happen. Because you are in a receptive state of being grateful, you will find that other things will happen in your life that you can be grateful about, and before you know it, your whole outlook will have shifted in a way that you might not have believed was possible.
What’s more, you will find that when you think about what you have to be grateful about you will instantly feel different. Just try it now, take 5 minutes to think about it and I will guarantee that you will get a slight flutter in your chest and a smile on your face, even if you are really down in the dumps at the moment.
As with most things in life, it is often the most simple little things that can make all of the difference and just by spending a few minutes every day thinking about what you are grateful for will ensure that your complete outlook on life will change for the better.
