Imagine What You Could Do If You Had No Fear

We all have seen the child who seamlessly has no fear. They are the ones who dive right into the pool without knowing how to swim. These individuals are born with a dulled sense of fear and forethought. I would suggest, however, that it is not that they have a diminished sense of forethought, but rather that they have come to realize that the risk of trying something pales in comparison to the reward of accomplishing it.

That is a lesson we could all benefit from. We must all try to see the reward as being greater than the risk.

The Horror Film In Your Head

I can remember once talking to an NLP practitioner who told me that he couldn’t understand why people pay good money to go to the cinema to see a horror film when they can watch the horror film that is going on in their head without paying anything.

That really struck a chord with me and made me smile because it is so true. So many people let their imagination get completely carried away and they picture all sorts of horrible things happening to them which can be far worse than any horror film.

I Can’t Do That

How many times have you heard that from people.  Maybe it is something that you say yourself.  We all do – each of us has a different threshold for what we will tackle and what we won’t.  But for many – fear of failure is what actually drives this response.  For many successful people though – it is being able to look at that fear – dissect it and take action to overcome it that makes them different.
